These guidelines apply to the finds mobile application, website, and related services. They apply to profiles, profile photos, tasting notes, tasting photos, comments, lists, and all other content that users share through finds.

If you believe that content on finds violates your rights, email [email protected]. Include enough information for us to review the content.

3. Alcohol in the finds Catalog

The finds catalog includes beer, wine, spirits, and other products that contain alcohol. Users can discover, rate, and discuss these products. finds does not sell or deliver alcohol. finds does not arrange an alcohol purchase.

We ask for your birthday during onboarding. We use this information to limit alcohol-related recommendations. We currently use age 21 as the limit. If an account is under age 21 or does not have a birthday, we do not include alcohol products in its onboarding recommendations.

This age limit does not confirm that a person can legally buy or consume alcohol. Alcohol laws are different in different locations. You must follow the laws that apply where you live or travel.

finds allows factual and responsible discussion of alcohol products. finds does not allow content that:

  • Encourages alcohol use by a person who is below the legal drinking age
  • Offers to sell, buy, deliver, or provide alcohol through finds
  • Encourages rapid, excessive, or dangerous alcohol use
  • Encourages driving or operating equipment after alcohol use
  • Shows or encourages a person to give alcohol to a minor
  • Gives false information about age to avoid an age limit

Product information, ratings, and user opinions are for discovery only. They are not health or safety advice.

4. Report Content or an Account

Use the report control in the app if you find content or behavior that can violate these guidelines. You can report:

  • An account, including its profile name, biography, or profile photo
  • A tasting, including its notes or photos
  • A comment

Select the reason that best describes the problem. A report sends the account or content to our moderation queue. We review each report within 24 hours. Some investigations can take longer if we need more information.

A report does not guarantee that we will remove content or restrict an account. We review the available information and apply these guidelines. We can take action before an investigation is complete if there is an urgent safety risk.

For an urgent concern that you cannot report in the app, email [email protected]. Contact local emergency services first if a person is in immediate danger.

5. Block an Account

You can block another account in the app. A block removes follow connections between the two accounts. It also prevents the accounts from seeing each other's content in social areas of finds.

Blocking and reporting are different actions. A block protects your experience, but it does not send a report to finds. Submit a report separately if you want our moderation team to review the account or content.

You can see and manage blocked accounts in the app settings.

6. Enforcement

We can use one or more of the following actions when a user violates these guidelines:

  • Take no action if we do not find a violation
  • Remove the content
  • Send a warning
  • Limit access to one or more features
  • Suspend the account for a set period
  • Permanently ban the account
  • Preserve or disclose information when the law requires it or when it is necessary to protect a person from serious harm

We do not have to use these actions in order. We select an action based on:

  • The type and severity of the violation
  • The actual or possible harm
  • The user's intent and the context
  • The user's previous violations
  • Whether the conduct targets a minor or another person at greater risk
  • Whether the user tries to hide the conduct or avoid enforcement

A first violation with a low risk of harm can result in content removal or a warning. A repeated or more serious violation can result in a longer suspension. A severe violation can result in a permanent ban after the first incident.

Severe violations include child sexual exploitation, a credible threat of violence, non-consensual sexual content, serious fraud, and conduct that creates an immediate risk of serious harm. This list does not include every severe violation.

If you create or use another account to avoid a restriction, we can extend the restriction and ban the other account.

7. Appeals

You can ask us to review an account restriction or content removal. Email [email protected] from the email address on your finds account. Include the decision that you want us to review and explain why you believe it was incorrect.

We will review the available information. An appeal does not guarantee that we will change the decision. We can keep a restriction in place while we review the appeal.

8. Changes to These Guidelines

We can update these guidelines when our service, safety risks, or legal duties change. We will change the "Last Updated" date when we publish a new version. We will give reasonable notice if a change has a material effect on users.
