finds SMS Verification Program
Program type: One-time passcode (OTP) phone verification
Sender: finds, a product of Saturday
Website: https://finds.nyc
finds uses SMS for one purpose: to send a one-time passcode that verifies a user's phone number when the user signs in or adds a number to their finds account. finds does not send marketing or promotional SMS.
How a user opts in
- The user opens the finds app for iOS.
- During sign-in or account setup, the app shows the screen "Add your number".
- The user types their own phone number into the phone number field.
- Below the button, the screen shows this disclosure: "We'll text you a one-time code. Msg & data rates may apply."
- The user taps the button labeled "Text me a code". This tap is the consent action. There is no pre-checked box; the user must actively request the message.
- finds sends one SMS that contains a one-time passcode. Example: "Your finds verification code is: 123456"
- The user types the code into the app to complete verification.
The user can decline. The screen includes a "Skip for now" option, and consent to receive SMS is not a condition of any purchase.
